Artists in Residence at The Lord Mayor’s Pavilion, Fitzgerald Park, Cork City

The tradition of ‘artist in residence’ programs in parks has a history that stretches back much further than is often thought. The phenomenon has been part of the international art world for over a century.

Visual artist P Gurgel-Segrillo and illustrator and author Alan Corbett are the core artists.

This beautiful building, built in the Arts and Crafts style in 1901 will be their basis during which they will create individual works inspired by the park, as well as invite other Cork City artists for collaborations/exhibitions and give courses/workshops/arts facilitation sessions.

This project will culminate in a final exhibition as well as a donation from each of the two artists of an artwork created during the residency in view of initiating a 'Park's Art Collection.’

All are invited to celebrate and live Art in this wonderful setting.
